Admission

Admission will be made on the basis of marks and quota of reservation prescribed by the Govt. and University as under.

The admission shall be made purely on the basis of merit subject to the reservation rules of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu i.e 18 % for Scheduled Casts (SC) and 1 % for Scheduled Tribes (ST) , 20 % for Most Backward Casts and Denotified Communities (MBC / DNC), 30 % for Backward Classes(BC), 31 % for Open Competition.

Out of the quota of 19 % (18 % SC and 1 % ST) reserved for SC/ST, 3 out of every 100 vacancies / seats shall be reserved for physically handicapped persons belonging to SC & ST.

Out of the quota of 50 % (30 % BC and 20 % MBC/DNC) reserved for Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities, 3 out of every 100 vacancies / seats shall be reserved for physically handicapped persons belonging to BC, MBC & DNC.

Out of the quota of 31 % intended for Open Competition, 3 out of every 100 vacancies / seats shall be reserved for physically handicapped persons in general. Four seats in UG courses shall be reserved for children of Ex-Serviceman of Tamil Nadu origin.

Selected candidates will be intimated by post and through the Notice Board in the College. Selected candidates shall join the college on the date specified in the admission card and request for postponement of joining will not be entertained. All admissions made are PROVISIONAL subject to the approval of Bharathiar University. The College has right to cancel the admission on a later date, if any of the documents submitted is found to be false or the qualification of the candidate admitted is not approved by the Bharathiar University.

Admission procedure for UG courses

A pass in higher secondary course of Tamil Nadu or any other examinations recognised as equivalent thereto.

The ranking of marks for the UG courses shall be computed for 100 marks for the major subjects and 50 % marks for each allied subjects offered.

For admission to B.A. Economics , weightage is 100 marks for Economics and 50 marks each for History and Accountancy. However candidates who have studied Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects will be preferred over others.

For admission to B.Sc. Mathematics, weightage is 100 marks for Mathematics and 50 marks each for Physics and Chemistry

For admission to B.Sc. Physics, weightage is 100 marks for Physics and 50 marks each for Mathematics and Chemistry

For admission to B.Sc. Chemistry, weightage is 100 marks for Chemistry and 50 marks each for Physics and 50 marks for Mathematics or Chemistry.

For admission to B.Sc. Botany, weightage is 100 marks for Botany and 50 marks each for Chemistry and Zoology and in the case of Biology students, weightage is 150 marks for Biology and 50 marks for Chemistry.

For admission to B.Sc. Computer Science, weightage is 100 marks for Computer Science and 50 marks each for Mathematics and Physics and in the case of non-computer science students, 100 marks is for Mathematics and 50 marks each for Physics and Chemistry and should have secured minimum of 50 % in English. Seat allocation will be 2/3 for Computer Science students and 1/3 for Non-Computer Science students.

For admission to B.Com., weightage is 75 marks each for Commerce and Accountancy and 50 marks each for Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics or Economics or Business Economics or Principles of Economics. In case of vocational students, 100 marks each for Commerce and theory paper (20 % of seats are reserved for vocational students).

For admission to B.B.M. course, the candidate should have secured 50 % in English & studied Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Commerce / Accountancy / Computer Science / Economics as one of the subjects and the ranking will be based on the average of all papers in Part-III. (20 % of seats are reserved for vocational students).

The candidates should have studied Tamil in Part-I atleast up to SSLC.


Eligibility for Admission to M.C.A.

A Bachelor’s Degree (10 + 2 + 3 pattern ) with atleast a SECOND CLASS (50 % of marks) from Bharathiar University or any other qualification recognised as equivalent thereto with study of Mathematics / Statistics for two semesters.

In case of SC/ST candidates, a mere pass in Bachelor’s degree with the study of Mathematics / Statistics for two semesters.


Admission procedure for M.C.A.

Candidates seeking admission to M.C.A. programme will have to appear for an Entrance Examination

Candidates awaiting the results of final examination can also appear for the Entrance Examination. Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. A candidate provisionally selected will received a communication to that effect. He / She will have to meet the principal along with parent / guardian for verification of records on the date and time specified. Selected candidate must be ready to pay the fees on the mentioned.

Those who fail to do so, will lose the allotted seat.
